As a hospitality professional with over 26 years of experience in the industry, David has gained valuable experience in corporate security, physical security, surveillance, safety, and compliance. In addition, he has spent the last 14 years instructing and teaching others life safety as well as creating policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safety in the workplace.
He has had several leadership roles and responsibilities throughout his career which includes being a First-Responder, Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Security Manager, Director of Surveillance, Safety, Fire and Compliance Officer as well as a property Risk Management and Security Operations Lead. These roles have given David experience in handling complex situations that require planning and logistic oversight.
His passion for public safety led him to pursue an AAS Degree in Administration of Justice with certifications in Law Enforcement and Forensic Science.
David has also obtained certifications from the National Fire Academy, National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, PELCO Surveillance Systems as well as being an instructor and Training Center Coordinator with the American Red Cross and the Health and Safety Institute.
His expertise goes beyond teaching and policy creation into corporate and physical security as well. David has been involved with and responsible for overseeing the security and safety operations of professional football training camps as well as professional golf and tennis sporting events.
Additionally, he has helped plan logistics and oversee corporate events and protective details for high level clients which involved working with such agencies as the US Secret Service, US Department of State Diplomatic Services, US Capitol Police, US Marshals Office as well as State and Local agencies.
David and his wife Jennifer currently reside in Raleigh County, and they have four children. He is a native of Alleghany County Virginia while Jennifer is a native of Greenbrier County. Both David and Jennifer love spending time with their family, being outdoors, traveling and both have a passion for helping others.
Currently, Jennifer resides in Raleigh County with her husband David and they have four children. She is a native of Lewisburg and a WVU Tech alumnus, she is the Executive Director of Council on Aging, Inc. and President of the West Virginia Directors of Senior and Community Services. Jennifer began her career working as a public Accountant for Price and Associates and then Smith Cochran and Hicks. In 1999, she became the Fiscal Officer for Council on Aging and then in 2006 took on the role of Interim Executive Director when the organization was facing possible receivership and/or dissolution. With her leadership skills and dedication to excellence, they were able to not only keep it afloat but also secure additional funding for their Alzheimer’s, LIFE, Lighthouse, and TBI programs. She was then made Executive Director later in 2006.
Jennifer has directed 13 programs including Personal Care, Medicaid waiver, Older Americans Act, DOL SCSEP, and others, with a team of 300 employees spread across multiple offices.
A leader in senior service programs, Jennifer and other leaders of the West Virginia Directors of Senior and Community Services received the National Institute of Senior Centers State Association Award in 2011. Jennifer was also awarded the Generation Next 40 under 40 for young leadership in WV. She is honored to be able to make a difference in people’s lives through her work at the Council on Aging and is committed to continuing this mission with passion and enthusiasm.
She takes great pride in ensuring that the Council on Aging operates smoothly and efficiently so that they can continue to serve their community with excellence.
As an accountant with several West Virginia firms, Jennifer had the pleasure of providing professional services to both profit and non-profit organizations. Her expertise includes developing financial process manuals, creating depreciation schedules, maintaining general ledgers, performing payroll processes, completing tax returns and financial reports, and managing accounts receivable and payable for various businesses.
In addition to her accounting skills, she also audited several non-profit organizations as well as state agencies and legislative programs, and contracted audits for West Virginia Workers Compensation.
Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the prestigious West Virginia University Institute of Technology. During her time there, she was also the President of the Accounting Leaders of Tomorrow – an organization that aimed to provide guidance to aspiring accountants.
Jennifer provides Customized Business Services to companies and nonprofits organizations. She enjoys employing forward-thinking strategies and business planning to help her clients achieve their strategic goals.
She brings to her role over 25 years of experience creating businesses, leading diverse teams of creative professionals in building relationships, advancing high-profile projects and programs, and leading financial reorganizations and turnarounds. Jennifer takes pride in delivering accurate results within tight deadlines while ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. As an experienced accountant, she understands how important it is to maintain financial records accurately and efficiently.
